Do you usually get a slice of lemon in your drink? have you ever mistaken a lemon for an orange and tasted the sourness of it? I know we all have.
A lemon is a fruit with many values, in the accent Egyptian times they believed that eating lemons would protect you against poison! This is linked to the fact that lemons are the most natural anti bacterial, they are used in many cleaning formulas, especially since the scent is a magnificent smell.
However in the make-up world lemon can be used in many different ways such as:
- to clean make-up brushes; it is used to neutralise the smell of a formula made up of olive oil and vinegar. This is an easy process of taking a few tablespoons or vinegar mixed with a few tablespoons of olive oil in warm water, then adding a slice or two of lemon. You can clean your brushes thoroughly, then rinse and dry them using cotton pads. (A helpful tip on cleaning your brushes; never keep them with the bristle facing the ceiling as this an lead to the water running down and ruining your brushes entirely)
- to moisturise skin using only lemon juice for 10 minutes everyday. This an help moisturise and clear your skin, simply soak your skin in lemon juice for 10 minutes, then rinse it clean to make it feel revitalised.
- to exfoliate your skin, this may seem virtually impossible but it most certainly is not! Mix juice from a whole lemon with some sugar and voilà! Scrub this on your skin thoroughly then wash it off, repeat this 2-3 times a week and you’ll start seeing results instantly.
- to help you loose those extra pounds after the Christmas break. You can introduce it to your diet as it has many nutritious values to keep your plate balanced.
